“The film is an impeccable slice of kitchen sink drama which follows the tense relationship between teenager Jack and wayward adult John. As the film reveals their past, and how they might be both sides of the same coin, it explores the push and pull of the desire for a future that will get better and regret for a wasted past.” - Laurence Boyce, Cineuropa

…a story so simple in the relationship between two opposite characters but at the same time so complex in not judging anyone and allowing mistakes and cowardice as a way of expressing one’s inability to be in the world . What could have been a classical, simplistic and moralistic tale suddenly becomes a very strong piece about hidden depression, about wanting to be better, so intense and emotionally powerful thanks in a big part to the extraordinary performances by Joshua Brennan and Jeremy Blewitt” - Gregory Audermatte, ARTE
